On March 6, 2017, the appeal hearing of Mahmoud Salehi and Osman Ismaili was held in Kurdistan province.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists , the appeal hearing of Mahmoud Salehi and Osman Ismaili was held at the fourth branch of the Appeal Court in Kurdistan Province on March 6, 2017.
Previously the appeal hearing had not been held because of the absence of the prosecutor.
It should be noted that Mahmoud Salehi, labor activist was sentenced to nine years in prison on charge of “propaganda against the regime” at the lower court in 2015.
The nine years imprisonment sentence was issued for Mahmoud Salehi, while he must go to the hospital two times a week, and each time must be treated under dialysis’ for a few hours. According to his relatives, the reason of Mahmoud Salehi’s severe kidney disease is the prohibition of treatment and kidney medication, during his detention in May.
Mahmoud Salehi, labor activist and member of the Coordinating Committee to Help Form Workers’ Organizations, who had been arrested and imprisoned several times, was arrested for the last time on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, on the eve of International Labor Day by security forces in his house and was released on the bail after more than a month of detention in a poor physical condition.
Osman Ismaili, was arrested by plainclothes in Saghez on Tuesday, April 28, 2015. He was sentenced to one year in prison on charge of participation in International Labor Day celebration at first branch of the Revolutionary Court on November 21, 2015.
